Ms Kristi Gilbert is a well-qualified Registered Nurse (Div.1) with extensive experience in critical care nursing, anaesthetics and aeromedical retrieval. She has special interests in emergency and intensive care, acute medical and surgical nursing, as well as holding current accreditations in advanced cardiopulmonary life support, IV cannulation and infusions. Ms Gilbert is an experienced nurse manager and consultant in legal medicine providing expert nurse opinions in medical negligence cases, case file and medical record reviews, and detailed legal briefs.
Further to completing a Bachelor Degree in Nursing at La Trobe University and gaining AHPRA nurse registration as an RN (Div.1), Ms Gilbert undertook post graduate training in critical care. Over the course of her career, she has worked in clinical practice, nursing management and as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Intensive Care Units, Emergency Departments, anaesthetics, acute medical and surgical units in major public and private hospitals in Bendigo, Melbourne and Darwin. Among the roles she has held, Ms Gilbert worked as the Patient Flow Co-Ordinator at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, the After Hours Manager at the St. John of God Hospital in Bendigo, an Infusion Nurse at Lifescreen Australia, a Critical Care Flight Nurse with Careflight, and an Anaesthetic Nurse at the Royal Darwin Hospital in Darwin. Ms Gilbert currently works as an anaesthetic nurse in Bendigo and as an RN at RM Begg Aged Care.
Ms Gilbert maintains her professional development through annual mandatory nurse education and training courses and attendance at conferences, seminars and workshops.
